Its alternating solid and void slices contrast the tangible cup with the immaterial heritage of Limoges craftsmanship.
A series of photographs of empty Limoges workshops extends "Ceci n'est pas". Like the cup's void, the artisans' absence reveals their essential role.
“Ceci n’est pas” is a monumental Limoges porcelain sculpture exploring the duality between presence and absence. From a familiar everyday cup to an abstract play of solid and void, the piece brings together craftsmanship, perception and illusion, transforming a universal object into a reflection on materiality and the invisible.
